Volunteers are the Ringette backbone of our Tournament - Please help out when asked

2013-12-11

Team managers will be contacting you this week to schedule volunteer times - please help as much as you can!

Hello Ringette Athlete Supporters,

Our Charlottetown Tournament is now just 4 weeks away and every year we rely upon your generosity to volunteer your time to make our annual Tournament a fantastic success. This is our only Charlottetown Ringette Association fundraiser that requires many volunteers for game sheets, clock operators, 50/50 ThunderBoard sellers and staff for the Hospitality room.

In order to make this a successful tournament, yes, we may need people to take two hours off work to help out with their child’s or grandchild’s sport. Success for this event means close to 335 volunteers are needed over the 4 days from January 9-12.

What does this mean to our kids:

  • A fun filled event on and off the ice and taking pride that this is the premier tournament in Atlantic Canada in any sport and it belongs to them.
  • Everyone in Atlantic Canada now talks about coming to Charlottetown for this Ringette event - we already have teams 77 teams registered this season with 132 games!
  • As parents we can raise up to $20,000 during this one event and no chocolate bar sales!
  • All monies go directly back to keep costs down in all areas of our organization.
    • Coaches Clinics and Officials Courses are covered.
    • Introduced goalie development support for the U10 & U12 divisions.
    • Shot clocks purchased & installed for use in U12 and above divisions.
    • 3 new jerseys sets for the 2013-14 season.
    • Website operational costs are covered with sponsors.
    • Annual registration fees are still one of the lowest in Atlantic Canada!

So when asked to help out as a Volunteer by your team manager in the coming week, please consider all the above before answering... YES!!
