Ringette House League Practice Ice Schedule for October 6-19

Charlottetown Ringette will start the season on October 6 with multiple practices in the next 2 weeks at all levels as we prepare for the player draft on October 18-19. Starting October 20, the teams will be formed and practice together several times before the League starts games on November 1. Please be on time to the Arena at least 30 min before the time below to allow the players to be dressed and ready to go on the ice 10 min before the times below.

• Check your Ringette bags - is all your equipment there.
• Does your gear still fit?
• Do you need your skates sharpened?
• Does your stick still measure up?
• Don’t forget a labelled water bottle.
• Don’t forgot your practice jersey

Dressing Room Policy Reminder
Only coaches and designated parents (females) are allowed in the Ringette dressing rooms for U12 and above! Please help your atheletes with skates in the hallway!

Jersey Deposit
After the draft is completed on October 19, the coach /manager will be distributing the team jerseys and collecting your jersey deposit ($65). Please do so to your team’s coach/manager in the form of a post dated check made out to Charlottetown Ringette dated April 1, 2014. No Deposit, no jersey and no game play for your athlete.

Goalies - Looking for more up and coming goalies in the U8/U10 and U12 teams
The sport of Ringette can not be played without a goalie and each year, the coach will look to a few players that want to try out for the position of goalie on some of the U8/U10 and U12 teams this year. Be supportive and encourage your athlete if she wants to try being a goalie in practice and a few games. The Charlottetown Association will assist with some equipment as as a partial rebate on registration fees to help cover the extra equipment costs. The position is 80% mental ability and 20% physical ability and requires the athlete to have a sharp eye on the game. Please keep this in mind as the season gets rolling.

We have about 10 mom's in Charlottetown that are keen to grow the Ringette Mama's group this year in Charlottetown for fun, enjoyment of sport our children play and for community connections to other moms. We are hoping to have another 10 join our group in Charlottetown. We put a call out to the other associations for Island wide involvement to gauge interest. For the October 11 Come Try Ringette Mama Style - all you need to bring are your skates, a helmet (bike helmet is OK), and a warm pair of gloves.
