The East Side Mario's Player of the Week for January 2 is Julia Smith from the U8 Teal Jets. Julia is in her first year of ringette following her older sister Lauren on the U10 Purple Predators. Here are a few highlights in her own words:
Why do you like playing ringette?
It is fun to skate around and wack people’s stick and it is just fun to play.
What do you like about ringette?
I like to get the ring when the other team passes it over the blue line.
What do you like about your team?
That they are all fast skaters and that they can all score good goals.
Tell us about your favorite ringette moment.
Getting the chance to play with my sister’s U10 team in a game when they did not have enough players.
