Charlottetown Ringette Tournament Wrap Up

2012-01-20

Another successful Tournament concluded on Sunday afternoon at the CARI Complex.

The 8th Annual Charlottetown Ringette Tournament wrapped up on Sunday with cross-overs and finals in the U10, U12, U14 and U16/U19 divisions. There were a total of 61 teams that participated in the largest ever Charlottetown Ringette Tournament and a great time was had by all in attendance. The Host Committee would like to thank all of the officials, volunteers, parents, players and coaches for all of their hard work and dedication to the sport of Ringette here on Prince Edward Island.

Our membership is the back bone of our association and your support and donation of time and energy to this event provide the very foundation of this tournament. You all attended to the important details that make a great event such as operating clocks, recording games sheets, preparing food for our friends, managing the office, running for coffee, selling 50/50, and of course the encouragement and cheering on of all the athletes. Everyone joins together to make this a manageable fundraiser for the Charlottetown Association and for this, we Thank You!

This is the Charlottetown Association’s only fundraiser with all proceeds from this tournament used to support Charlottetown Ringette including the offering of development programs (Players, Coaches, Officials), new gear, jersey’s and low registration fees. The event organizers take pride in the success of all the well played games as well as the off ice activities such our famous hospitality room, bottle cap game and great new clothing designs each year.

The athletes always share with our volunteers how much they love the games and the off ice fun, of course the hotel living for the weekend and the all around atmosphere of the tournament. This wouldn’t be possible without parents and family making the commitment to participate. For those that drove in questionable road conditions, we are glad you made it safe and sound. We hope our out of town guests enjoyed your accommodations, meals and Island hospitality.
