Natalie MacLean of the U10 Thunder Cats has been moonlighting for the past month at the Confederation Centre of the Arts rehearsing 6 nights a week for her role as Gretl von Trapp in the Centre's show "The Sound of Music". Natalie is the youngest cast member in the show and is cast as the youngest of seven children in the play. At home Natalie is the eldest of 3 children, so she thoroughly enjoys getting the opportunity to play the youngest role and having so many older siblings on stage.
The public performances began on Wednesday of this week and will continue until Saturday evening. Natalie is savoring every moment and passionate about her role on stage. Natalie, aka Gretl, says her favorite part is "everything!!". Natalie especially loves the hair/make-up/microphone work before the show starts, the 5 different costumes she gets to wear on stage, and that she has solo parts in songs and lines in the performance.
Natalie has still managed to find time for ringette practices, but did miss out on some games and is looking forward to re-joining her team full-time once the production wraps up.
