2011-10-23

To all who are interested in assisting with coaching or managing for the upcoming season, now would be the time to talk with Tyler Larter and/or your athlete’s coach this week at practice time!

The coaching director, Tyler Larter, announced the coaches for the 2011-12 season earlier this week but we are still in need of some assistant coaches for the teams. Now would be the time to talk with Tyler and your athlete’s coach this week at practice. To all who are interested in coaching or managing for the upcoming season, please make sure you have your documents filled out and passed into Tyler Larter. The Coaching / Manager application and the Criminal Records check are the two documents that need to be completed are on the web. If you have had a Criminal Records check for Ringette last season, you are now covered for 3 years of Ringette.

Want to be a Team Manager!

A Team Manager will have significant impact on the success of the Ringette season. While the Coach takes responsibility for everything that happens on the ice, the Manager essentially takes responsibility for everything off the ice. Often it is assumed the Manager is only a team administrator, however, the best managers provide leadership to the team and manage the people involved.  The Team Manager and the Coach must work together to establish the culture of the team, and establish the structure for the team.

The manager plays a key role in providing the necessary organization and communication which is required for a healthy and successful team environment.  In addition he/she provides technical support for coaching staff, counselling and support of team players, and becomes a catalyst for involvement of all parents.
