2015-10-28Ringette PEI will be hosting 2 Community Sport Initiation clinics in the coming weeks.
Ringette PEI will be hosting 2 Community Sport Initiation clinics in the coming weeks.
All coaches and assistant coaches in the league must be trained in CSI (minimum requirement). Coaches are encouraged to find a trained replacement for any practices that conflict with the timing of the clinic.
All coaches need to create a profile on www.coachingringette.ca to register for courses. When you create a profile, it will automatically generate an NCCP number for you. If you’ve already taken NCCP training you should be sure to include your number when you create a profile so you don’t have 2 numbers. If you think you have a number but don’t know what it is, contact the office at vvuillemot @ sportpei.pe.ca.
In order to complete training there are 5 steps to complete:

In order to complete training there are 5 steps to complete:
- Introduction to Coaching Ringette Workbook- this is done online through your coachingringette.ca profile. You won’t be able to register for clinics until this is complete.
- Introduction to Coaching Ringette Clinic- this is a 4 hour introduction clinic. It covers the module of “Introduction- Role of the Coach”, “Long Term Athlete Development”, and “Planning a Practice- Safety”. If you have already taken these modules as part of another NCCP course you do not have to take this clinic. However, you do need to contact the office with your NCCP number so you can be given credit in the coachingringette.ca website. You will not be able to register for the Ringette CSI clinic until you're given credit for this Intro course.
- Multisport Make Ethical Decisions Module- this used to be part of the CSI clinic but is not any longer. It is being offered during the Coaching Workshop on October 25th. It is 3 hours. Same as the Intro to Coaching clinic- you may have already taken this as part of another sports NCCP training. If that is the case, you need to send your NCCP number so it can be verified and you will be credited.
- Online evaluation for Make Ethical Decisions- you need to complete the online evaluation for the MED clinic in order to finalize your training. Your training is not complete until this step is taken. It takes about 45 minutes online to complete.
- Community Sport Initiation (CSI) clinic- this is an 8 hour clinic which includes 1 hour of ice time.
